Going into lighting

Animation is mostly wrapped up, so it is time to direct my attention into lighting. It's kind of an interesting process, as I explained before. Here's a shot, tenatively "approved"

Lighting

I've begun animating, but in the meantime I have also decided to light a single shot, to get an idea of the process I shall undergo for the whole film. The reason for this is that I am not following a typical 3D lighting setup. The fact is that most of my set is not affected by light. Where light does have an effect, it is not very evident. The actual lights themselves won't do much besides setting the direction of the shading. As such, what I must do is go through ever object's shader and tweak the actual color of the textures. Sounds arduous, but in practice it was no more difficult that the traditional lighting process. Here is the result, after spending a few hours on it:

It could still use some tweaking (doesn't everything?), but I am quite satisfied. I am quite excited to take this further into the rest of the film. Comments and opinions are appreciated. I'm mostly animating at the moment, and I'll be posting some stuff once it starts getting more finished.

More texturing

I'm done. For now. So basically I'm not done. Is one ever done? Anyways, look at what I'm turning in for the purposes of class.

Texturing

Up next is texturing. Major props to Rick for helping me get started on these.

The radio isn't textured, if you were wondering. I'll be finishing that up soon, and then on to animating :)

Wiggly lines

I've been playing with Maya's toon line to get it to wiggle nicely. It has been a challenge, but I believe I am very close. Check it out

More playing with textures

've continued to experiment with the texturing and shading on the model. I believe I have come up with something closer to what I want. Still messing around with the toon line. The Maya toon line has many attributes that I have yet to explore.

Here is one without the toon line

Texture test

Just playing around with shading techniques, and toon lines. This is by no means finished. I do like where it is going though. I definitely need a higher res texture though. Also trying to see if I can get the lines to show up in more areas
